Snooker in Ypsilanti, Michigan
A real snooker table is hard to find in Michigan. We have one in Ypsilanti, and you can play until 2 AM.
Where to Play Snooker in Michigan
Snooker is huge in the UK, Asia and the Middle East, but in Michigan most halls only have pool tables. If you grew up playing snooker, or you watched the pros on TV and want to try it, you know how hard it is to find a table here.
Playverse Reno has a snooker table at 2287 Ellsworth Rd in Ypsilanti. It is worth the drive from Ann Arbor, Canton or Detroit for a few frames.

Snooker vs Pool: What Is Different
A snooker table is bigger than a pool table, the balls are smaller and the pockets are tighter. That makes every shot harder and every good shot feel better. Instead of solids and stripes you play 15 reds and 6 colors, and you score points instead of just clearing balls.

How a Frame of Snooker Works
You pot a red (1 point), then a color of your choice (yellow 2, green 3, brown 4, blue 5, pink 6, black 7). The color comes back on its spot, and you go for another red. When the reds are gone, you pot the colors in order from yellow to black. The player with the most points wins the frame.
It sounds simple. It is not. Snooker is about position, safety shots and patience, which is exactly why people love it.
Who Snooker Is For
Students from Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan, people who grew up with the game back home, and pool players who want a tougher table. Whether you have never held a snooker cue or you are chasing your first 50 break, you are welcome here.
